Large Amethyst Diamond Ring 3669

Rose cut diamonds set in silver are typical of Georgian jewelry but this ring has an open back which is more common to Victorian jewelry. I am guessing that the ring dates from the early Victorian period. The condition is very good with some wear around diamonds. The center stone is a very brilliant, rich colored, clean amethyst. The surrounding stones are rose cut diamonds. The original stone was most likely replaced by the amethyst because this color, size, and quality of amethyst was not available over 100 years ago. The rest of the ring is in its original condition.
